Social Toxicity Through Adolescence and Social Media

As a college professor, I was thrown at the forefront of the social media war between the students and the real world. I understand that the term "war" in relation to children and social media is very strong but literally struggles to save the minds of our young teenagers. I was at college when Facebook and MySpace were recently released into the world, so I had a constant picture of how things have progressed over time. Today, students leave Facebook domains to simply resort to other social media, such as instant chat. By developing smart phones, it is extremely easy for a young child to be flooded in the world unfortunately filled with adult material. The introduction of smart phones and social media into our everyday life has created a catastrophic situation. As a teacher, I have the opportunity to be exposed to students who use a lot of social media.
